Grand Opening CeremonyNative Vines WineryJuly 28, 2007 Our grand opening ceremony was a big success. Daphine Strickland, a spiritual leader, and a member of the Lumbee Tribe, performed the blessing ceremony for the winery. Lots of friends and industry people came to support our grand opening. There was wine tasting, music, food, and an opportunity to be the first to purchase our product. The tasting was well received, with industry people giving great praise for our wines. We were very pleased with the outpouring of support.

At left: Daphine Strickland who performed in the blessing ceremony, for the winery's opening, is an accomplished leader of the Lumbee Tribe. She has competed, as well as participated in many Pow Wow's, and has been a positive influence in the Native American communities. She makes Indian jewelry, and her own regalia's. She is instrumental in helping the Native American's financially, spiritually, as well as being a good friend to the Indian community.
